Ganesha God of Art

Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India. Hindu sects worship him regardless of other affilliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Buddhists, and beyond India. Ganesha, is one of the most widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles, patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom. He is honored at the start of rituals and ceremonies and invoked as Patron of Letters during writing sessions. He is closely associated with the daily lives of millions of Hindus even todays. As he is reputed to be a remover of obstacles he is propitiated before the beginning of any new venture whether it is the building of a new house, the writing of a book, the beginning of a journey or the starting of a new business.
